guanine nucleotide regulatory protein (GNRP)

Introduction

GNRP are molecular switches that bind GTP & GDP. They slowly hydrolyze GTP to GDP. The balance between GTP-bound (active) & GDP-bound (inactive) states is regulated by opposing action of GTPase-activating proteins (GAP) & that of GDP/GTP dissociation stimulators (GDS).
