Function
- role in transcriptional activation of certain genes via acetylation of nucleosomal histone H4 & H2A
- acetylation alters nucleosome - DNA interactions & positively regulates transcription
- ATPase & helicase activities contributed by association of RUVBL1 & RUVBL2 with EP400
- NuA4 complex interacts with MYC & the adenovirus E1A protein
- may be involved in:
- oncogene & proto-oncogene mediated growth induction
- tumor suppressor mediated growth arrest
- replicative senescence
- apoptosis
- DNA repair
