Introduction
Cellular response to DNA damage, including recognition & repair. Not all DNA damage is recognized & repaired; tolerance to DNA damage is recognized, but poorly understood. Different types of DNA lesions are repaired by different mechanisms.
Classification
In mammalian systems, 4 types of DNA repair are recognized:

Human Disorders of DNA Repair include:
- ataxia telangiectasia
- Xeroderma pigmentosum
- trichothiodystrophy
- hereditary non polyposis colon cancer
- Li-Fraumeni syndrome
- Cockayne syndrome
- Bloom's syndrome
- Fanconi's anemia
- early-onset acute myeloid leukemia[2]
