mitogen-activated protein kinase kinase kinase (MAP3K) or MEK kinase (MEKK)

Introduction

MEKK is activated by ras independently of raf. MEKK is actually more efficient in activating jun kinase kinase (JNKK) than MAP2K/MEK & functions to propagate the intracellular signal of ras to the jun kinases (JNK).
