may function in
- homotypic fusion of late endosomes
- heterotypic fusion of late endosomes with lysosomes c lysosomal exocytosis

Structure

presumptively SNARE core complex
may be several different SNARE complexes including complexes containing:
- Golgi SNAREs GOSR1, GOSR2 & YKT6 & STX5
- VTI1B, STX7, STX8 & VAMP8
- STX18, USE1L, BNIP1/SEC20L, & SEC22B
  - RINT1/TIP20L & ZW10 are associated with the complex through interaction with BNIP1/SEC20L
- STX4, SNAP23, VAMP7
- STX7, STX8, VAMP7 & VTI1B
