- asymmetric distribution of channels & receptors in plasma membrane of polarized cells
- forms membrane-associated multiprotein complexes that regulate delivery & recycling of membrane proteins to apporpriate membrane domains
- couples synaptic vesicle exocytosis to cell adhesion in brain (putative)
- localizes GRIN2B to neuronal postsynaptic density
- localizes Kir2 channels, SLC6A12, ERBB1, ERBB2, ERBB3, ERBB4 to the basolateral membrane of epithelial cells
- component of LIN7-CASK-APBA1 tripartite complex
- orms two exclusive ternary complexes with CASK & APBA1
- interacts with MPP5, MPP6, DLG1, DLG2, DLG3 via L27 domain

Structure
- kinase interacting site is required for proper delivery of ERBB2 to the basolateral membrane
- PDZ domain regulates endocytosis & recycling of the receptor at the membrane
- L27 domain mediates interaction with CASK & is involved in the formation of multimeric complexes & the association of LIN7 with membranes (putative)
