Introduction
Tradename: Nalfon.
Dosage
200-600 mg PO TID/QID, max 3200 mg/day
Tabs: 200, 300, 600 mg.
Pharmacokinetics
- food decreases rate & extent of absorption
- metabolized in liver to form 4-hydroxyfenoprofen glucuronide & fenoprofen glucuronide
elimination via liver
1/2life = 2.5-3 hours
protein binding = 99 %
elimination by hemodialysis = -
elimination by peritoneal dialysis = -
Adverse effects
- gastrointestinal disturbance
- rash
- tinnitus
- confusion
- anorexia
- leukopenia & thrombocytopenia (rare)
- nephrotoxicity (uncommon)
- hepatotoxicity (uncommon)
Drug interactions
- coadministration of aspirin decreases fenoprofen concentrations
- probenecid may increase fenoprofen concentration
- fenoprofen may increase plasma levels of:

- drug interaction(s) of NSAIDs with oral contraceptive
