Function

• inhibits inflammatory cytokine (IL-6, IL-1 beta, TNF-alpha, IL-8, gro-B) secretion induced by LPS in monocytes
• synergizes with IL-2 in regulating IFN-gamma synthesis in NK cells
• also enhances proliferation of B-cells & expression of CD23
• in conjunction with IL-4, stimulates responding B-cells to switch to IgE production
• interacts with IL13RA2
