Function

• Ras effector protein, which may serve as an inhibitory modulator of neuronal plasticity
• potentiates long term potentiation in mouse amygdala (more than hippocampus)
• modulates the formation of aversive memories
• facilitates Ras-activated receptor endocytosis
• interacts with GTP bound form of Ras proteins, which prevents Ras interaction & activation of raf kinase & PI3 kinase
• enhances signaling via Abl1 & Abl2 proteins, affecting actin & cytoskeletal remodeling
• interacts with the SH3 domain of ABL1 & ABL2.
• activates rab 5A
• phosphorylated on Tyr by ABL1 & ABL2
• phosphorylated on Ser-351 by PKD
• interacts with 14-3-3 proteins YWHAB, YWHAE & YWHAZ when phosphorylated on Ser-351
• interaction with Ras is probably regulated & antagonized by the interaction with 14-3-3 proteins
• interacts with RAB5A
