Introduction

TAFs are subunits of TFIID excluding the TATA-binding protein (TBP or p38TFIID) {allegedly 13 in humans} & transcription factors associated with TBP in complexes facilitating transcription by RNA polymerase-1 (SL1) & RNA polymerase-3 (TFIIB). SNAP43, SNAP45 & SNAP50 associate with TBP in SNAPc, an RNA polymerase-2 & RNA polymerase-3 associated complex.

TAFs are components of the TFIID complex, the TFTC complex, the PCAF complex & the STAGA complex.
