Introduction
5 mg oxycodone + 325 mg aspirin: DEA-controlled substance: class 2.
Contraindications
Dosage
1 tabs PO every 6 hours
Tablets: oxycodone HCl 4.5 mg, oxycodone terephthalate 0.38 mg & aspirin 325 mg
Pharmacokinetics
elimination: liver > kidney
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- less common (1-10%)
- ureteral spasms, pain at site of injection, nervousness, headache, restlessness, anorexia, malaise, epigastric cramps, dry mouth, constipation, biliary spasm, decreased urination, confusion, dyspnea*, hemolytic anemia, rash, gastrointestinal ulceration, anaphylactic shock
- uncommon (< 1%)
- paralytic ileus, depression, histamine release, hallucinations, paradoxical CNS stimulation, urticaria, increased intracranial pressure, physical & psychologic dependence, insomnia, nervousness, jitters, occult bleeding, prolongation of bleeding time, leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, hepatotoxicity, bronchospasm, iron deficiency anemia, renal insufficiency
* respiratory depression is dose & tolerance-related
