• may play a role in regulation of cytoskeletal rearrangements involved in cytokinesis & cell migration
• interacts with actin, ACTL6A, NCOA2, CARM1, LRRFIP1 & LRRFIP2
• interacts with the nuclear receptors ESR1 & THRB

• contains 5 gelsolin-like repeats
• contains 15 LRR repeats (leucine-rich repeats)

• colocalizes to actin-rich structures in blastocysts &, together with HRAS1, RHOA & CDC42, in migrating fibroblasts

Expression

• strongest expression in skeletal muscle

Pathology

• deletion of the FLII gene may be a cause of Smith-Magenis syndrome
