dyshidrotic eczematous dermatitis; pompholyx

Introduction

A vesicular hand & foot dermatitis. Despite the name (dyshidrotic), there are no associated abnormalities of sweat glands.

Etiology

Epidemiology

  • ages 12-40 years
  • no sex predilection
  • often appear with the summer heat[6]
  • case report of 22 year old woman who recently started a job as a dishwasher[5]

Pathology

Clinical manifestations

*images[4][7] neither of which resemble MSAP20 image

* MSAP20 image of plantar surface hands of a presumptively colored woman without context other than a pruritic rash limited to her palms & fingers
