Etiology
- Herpes simplex
- Herpes zoster Clinical manisfestions:
- dermatitis consisting of vesicular lesions
- vesicular rash on an erythematous base in various stages of development is Herpes zoster
Differential diagnosis
- eczematous dermatitis, hand dermatitis
- atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis ..., dishwashing
Management
- contact precautions
- airborne precautions & contact precautions if due to disseminated Herpes zoster*
* Herpes zoster involving >= 3 dermatomes[1]
