Introduction
Superficial disruption of the skin or mucous membrane*.
A shallow ulcer.
* limited to the mucosa, without penetration of the muscularis mucosa
Differential diagnosis
- linear erosions are termed excoriations
- annular erosions may be the only sign of vesiculobullous dermatitis[2]
