Introduction
Clinical features:
- Most common in adolescents and young adults.
- Mediastinum commonly involved.
- Stage and bulk have prognostic importance, often curable.
Pathology
- nodular or partially nodular pattern with fibrous bands. necrosis common.
- lymphocytes, histiocytes, plasma cells, eosinophils & neutrophils present.
- characteristic cell is lacunar type Reed-Sternberg cell
- diagnostic Reed-Sternberg cells usually present.
