Introduction
A macrophage present in connective tissue. Histiocytes derive from cells in the bone marrow that migrate to & differentiate in connective tissue.
Histiocytes include:
- Kupffer cells (liver)
- alveolar macrophages
- giant cells in granulomas
- osteoclasts
- Langerhans cells (epidermis)
