Introduction

Benign, self-limited disease of lymph nodes.

Etiology

Pathology

histiocytic, necrotizing lymphadenopathy

Clinical manifestations

• cervical lymphadenopathy - may be tender
• respiratory symptoms
• afebrile
• splenomegaly may be present
• symptoms resolve spontaneously in 2-4 months

Diagnostic criteria

by exclusion

Laboratory

lymph node biopsy

Management

• supportive, disease is self-limited
• does NOT respond to antibiotic therapy
