Indications

• assessment of stage 1 or 2 colorectal carcinoma

Contraindications

• not appropriate for carcinoma in situ
• not appropriate for metastatic cancer

Specimen

• tissue from colorectal biopsy or surgical specimens

Procedure

• RT-PCR
• analyzes expression of 12 genes
  • 3 genes are associated with activated stroma
    • BGN, INHBA & FAP
  • 3 genes are cell cycle associated
    • MK167, MYBL2 & MYC
  • 1 early-response or genotoxic stress pathway gene
    • GADD45B
  • 5 reference genes
    • ATP5E, GPX1, PGK1, VDAC2, UBB
