COP9 signalosome complex (CSN complex)

Function

• cellular & developmental processes
• regulates ubiquitin conjugation via deneddylation of cullin subunits of SCF-type E3 ligase complexes
  • diminishes ubiquitin E3 ligase activity
• regulates phosphorylation of p53/TP53, c-jun, NFKBIA, ITPK1, IRF8 via association with CK2 & PKD kinases (putative)
  • CSN complex-dependent phosphorylation of TP53 promotes & c-jun phorphorylation protects from degradation by the ubiquitin system
