Function
- isomerase intermediate of prostaglandin E2 H2 (PGH2) into more stable prostaglandin E2 (PGE2) form
- transactivation activity toward IFN-gamma via interaction with CEBPB (putative, relevance uncertain)
- cofactor: dihydro lipoic acid
- prostaglandin biosynthesis 5)interact with CEBPB (putative), EXOSC1
Structure
homodimer
Compartment
- Golgi membrane
- processed form: cytoplasm, perinuclear region
Expression
- widely expressed in adult & heart but not aorta
- expressed in brain: cerebellum; occipital lobe, frontal lobe & parietal lobes
- expressed in the lymph nodes, skeletal muscle, kidney, trachea
- not expressed in thymus, lung
Pathology
- overexpressed in colorectal cancer
