Function
- cell growth regulation
- regulation of mitogenic signals & control of cell proliferation
- internalization of ligand-inducible tyrosine kinase receptors, including EGFR
- binds AP2A2, STN2, EPN1
- interacts with CRK via its SH3-binding sites
- phosphorylation on Tyr-849
- role in the internalization of EGFR
- forms heterotrimer with HGS, & either STAM1 or STAM2
Structure
- contains 2 EF-hand domains
- contains 3 EH domains
- contains 2 UIM repeats (ubiquitin-interacting motif)
Compartment
- cytoplasm, cell membrane
- recruited to the plasma membrane upon EGFR activation & localizes to coated pits
Expression
ubiquitously expressed
