• role in augmenting coactivator protein recruitment to a group of sequence-specific transcription factors
• enhances cytokine-mediated STAT transcription
• enhances CBP/p300 coactivator protein recruitment to STAT1 & STAT5
• interacts with N-myc & C-myc, as well as with other transcription factors with a Zip, HLH or a HLH-Zip motif
• interacts with all STAT proteins except STAT2
• induced by interleukin-2 & interferon gamma
