Structure
- unpaired bone of the cranium lying between the orbital plates of the frontal bone, anterior to the sphenoid bone
- it consists of 2 lateral thin plates enclosing air cells
- the ethmoid bone borders the anterior cranial fossa, the orbits & nasal cavity, & cribriform plate above
Articulation
- the ethmoid bone articulates with the sphenoid bone, frontal bone, maxilla, lacrimal bone, palatine bone, inferior nasal concha & vomer.
