Introduction
Paired bone of the cranium.
Function
- above is an extensive cavernous vascular bed for heat exchange.
Structure
- it is a thin, spongy, bony plate on the lateral wall of the nasal cavity separating the middle from the inferior meatus
- the bone contains a thick mucoperiosteum.
Articulation
- articulates with the ethmoid bone, lacrimal bone, maxilla & palatine bone
