Function

• above is an extensive cavernous vascular bed for heat exchange.

Structure

• it is a thin, spongy, bony plate on the lateral wall of the nasal cavity separating the middle from the inferior meatus
• the bone contains a thick mucoperiosteum.

Articulation

• articulates with the ethmoid bone, lacrimal bone, maxilla & palatine bone
