superior nasal concha (superior turbinated bone)

Introduction

A thin, spongy, bony plate-like process of the ethmoid bone projecting from the lateral wall of the nasal cavity separating the superior meatus from the sphenoethmoidal recess.

The bony process contains a thick mucoperiosteum & a lesser vascular bed above than that of the middle nasal concha & inferior nasal concha.
