Epidemiology

  • more common in males
  • antibiotic-resistant strain of Klebsiella pneumoniae infected 19 people (7 deaths directly attributable to Klebsiella) at the NIH Clinical Center in Bethesda, Maryland Aug 2011-Sept 2012
