Function
- elongation of primed DNA templates by DNA polymerase delta & DNA polymerase epsilon requires the action of the accessory proteins PCNA & replication factor-C (activator 1)
- complex containing RFC1 forms a complex with PCNA in the presence of ATP stimulating ATPase activity
- complex containing RAD17 does not interact with PCNA
Subunits
- heteropentamer of subunits: replication factor C subunit 1 (RFC1) replication factor C subunit 2 (RFC2) replication factor C subunit 3 (RFC3) replication factor C subunit 4 (RFC4) replication factor C subunit 5 (RFC5)
- RFC2, RFC2, RFC4, & RFC5 may complex with either RFC1 or RAD17[2]
- RFC2, RFC2, RFC4, & RFC5 may complex with CTF18, CTF8, & DCC1 in the CTF18-RFC complex
