TIMELESS-interacting protein (TIPIN)

Function

• required for normal progression of S-phase
• role in cell survival after DNA damage or replication stress
• may be specifically required for the ATR-CHK1 pathway in the replication checkpoint induced by hydroxyurea or ultraviolet light
• interacts with TIMELESS, which impairs TIMELESS self- association
• interacts with RPA2, PRDX2, MCM6 & MCM7
• phosphorylated upon DNA damage, probably by ATM or ATR
