May be most important single finding in distinguishing potentially a blinding condition from less serious disorders.
Etiology
- ocular lens disorder
- optic nerve disorder
- retinal disease
- eye infection or eye inflammation
- dry eyes (keratitis sicca)[3]
- vitreal disorders
- temporal arteritis
- migraine
- pharmaceuticals[2]
