Etiology
- cranial whiplash
- blunt eye trauma[2]
- no evidence that soccer ball heading causes retinal hemorrhage
- retinopathy
Clinical manifestations
- pain & swelling of affected eye
- diminished visual acuity (case report visual acuity 20/400)
Diagnostic procedures
- ophthalmoscopy*
- intraocular pressure may be normal
- absent foveal reflex

Management
- pars plana vitrectomy with internal tamponade (case report)[2]
