malignant neoplasm of cartilage, may be skeletal or extraskeletal.

- histologically similar to chondrosarcoma
- immunohisotchemistry:
Genetics
- chromosomal translocation t(9;17)(q22;q11) involving TAF2N with NR4A3 is found in a form of extraskeletal myxoid chondrosarcoma
- other implicated genes CSAG1, CSAG2, EXT1
Clinical manifestations
- pain
- tends to present in axial skeleton in middle-age adults
Radiology
- X-ray of affected region
- lucencies developing within calcification
- periostal reactions
- soft tissue mass
- CT, MRI or bone scan useful
Management
- surgical resection
