• contains 1 WW domain
  • binds to transcription factors via its WW domain

• concentrates along specific portions of the plasma membrane, & accumulates in punctate nuclear bodies
• phosphorylation inhibits transcriptional coactivation via YWHAZ-mediated nuclear export - when phosphorylated, WWTR1 is retained in cytoplasm by YWHAZ
