Function
- actin-binding adapter protein
- common effector of antigen receptor-signaling pathways in leukocytes (putative)
- association with dynamin suggests that it may connect the actin cytoskeleton to endocytic function
- component of the 'immunological synapse' that regulates T-cell activation by bridging TCRs & the actin cytoskeleton to gene activation & endocytic processes
- binds to F-actin but is not involved in actin polymerization, capping or bundling
- does not bind G-actin
- interacts with SHANK2 & SHANK3 via SH3 domain
- interacts with FGD1, dynamin, MAP4K1
- degraded by caspases during apoptosis
Structure
- contains 1 ADF-H domain
- contains 1 SH3 domain
Compartment
- cytoplasm; cytoskeleton
- cortical cytoskeleton
- associates with lamellipodial actin
