Function
- binds specifically to GTP-Rho
- may function in a Rho pathway to limit stress fiber formation &/or increase turnover of F-actin structures in the absence of high levels of RhoA activity
- interacts with GTP-bound RhoA & RhoB
- interacts with both GTP- & GDP-bound RhoA (controversy)
- interacts with KRT18
Structure
- contains 1 BRO1 domain
- contains 1 PDZ domain (DHR domain)
- contains 1 REM repeat (Hr1 repeat)
Compartment
cytoplasm, perinuclear region
Expression
- widely expressed
- highly expressed in prostate, trachea, stomach, colon, thyroid, pancreas
- expressed at lower level in brain, spinal cord, kidney, placenta, liver
- induced by thyrotropin (TSH), regulated by the cAMP pathway
