Function
- receptor for interleukin-2
- beta subunit is involved in receptor mediated endocytosis & transduces the mitogenic signals of IL2
- beta subunit is an intermediate affinity IL2 receptor
- associates with cytokine receptor gamma
- interacts with SHB upon interleukin stimulation
- interacts with HTLV-1 accessory protein p12I
- associates with/activates lck, fyn, & lyn[5]; may do so through association with JAK3
Structure
- the WSXWS motif appears to be necessary for proper protein folding, efficient intracellular transport & cell-surface receptor binding
- the box 1 motif is required for JAK interaction &/or activation
- belongs to the type I cytokine receptor family, type 4 subfamily
- contains 1 fibronectin F3 module
Compartment
membrane
