Function
- may serve role in signaling pathway coupling the Fc receptor to activation of the respiratory burst
- may have role in neutrophil migration & may regulate the degranulation process of neutrophils
- may bind to HIV-1 Nef & VIF through its SH3 domain; interaction would stimulate its tyrosine-kinase activity
Structure
- SH3 domain mediates binding to HIV-1 Nef
- belongs to the Tyr protein kinase family, SRC subfamily
- contains 1 protein kinase domain
- contains 1 SH2 domain
- contains 1 SH3 domain
- isoform p59-HCK contains a N-myristoyl glycine at position 3
- contains a S-palmitoyl cysteine at position 4 (putative)
Compartment
Alternative initiation
- named isoforms=2
