• seems to be part of an atypical cullin-RING-based E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase complex
• in vitro, complexes of CUL9/PARC with either CUL7 or TP53 contain E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase activity
• in vitro, self-ubiquitination in the presence of E1, E2 & ubiquitin
• neddylated
• forms a complex with TP53/p53 in the cytoplasm of unstressed cells
• interacts with UBCH7 & UBCH8
• interacts with CUL7 & RBX1
• the CUL7-CUL9 heterodimer seems to interact specifically with TP53
