Function
- may promote or inhibit apoptosis depending on cell type[3]
- binds bcl-xL[3]
- interacts with Apaf-1 & inhibits binding of bcl-xL to Apaf-1[1]
- interacts with various pro- & anti-apoptotic bcl-2 family members
- Bak & Bik disrupt Boo/Diva association with Apaf-1[2]
- in glioma cell lines, Boo/Diva promoted cell cycle exit in response to serum deprivation & inhibited apoptosis induced by CD95 ligand.
- Boo/Diva interfered with apoptotic signaling downstream of cytochrome c release but upstream of caspase activation[4]
Compartment
Expression
liver, kidney, ovary
Comparative biology
Uniprot reference for mouse protein
