Indications
- preparing solutions for irrigating indwelling urethral catheters
- dissolve or prevent formation of calcifications
Dosage
Powder for solution: (300 g)
- citric acid 156-171 g
- Mg(OH)HCO3 75-87 g
- D-gluconic acid 21-30 g (or gluconolactone)
- CaCO3 2-6 g
- H2O 17-21 g
Adverse effects
- common (> 10%)
- fever, flank pain (transient), urothelial ulceration &/or edema
- less common (1-10%)
- hypermagnesemia, hyperphosphatemia, nausea, urinary tract infection, dysuria, bladder irritabiloity, back pain, transient hematuria, increased serum creatinine, candidiasis
- uncommon (< 1%)
