lateral abdominal pain at the level of the umbilicus
Etiology
- acute kidney injury due to
- pyelonephritis
- obstructive uropathy due to retroperitonal disease
- retroperitonal hemorrhage
- nephrolithiasis (colicky)
- renal vein thrombosis

Clinical manifestations
- flank tenderness (costovertebral angle tenderness)

Radiology
- CT of abdomen
- CT angiography if suspected renal vein thrombosis
