Function
- negatively regulates MHC class II antigen presentation in dendritic cells by interacting with the molecular chaperone HSPA8 & impairing its role in lysosomal antigen transport[2]
- does not regulate the levels or activity of the MIR155HG microRNA from which miPEP155 is derived[3]
- interacts with molecular chaperone HSPA8/HSC70 (via N-terminal ATP-binding region)
Compartment
Expression
- detected in dendritic cells (at protein level)
- up-regulated in antigen-presenting cells in inflamed dermis
