In reference to a diet of only products NOT derived from animals.
Indications
- a healthy vegan diet offers a protective cardiometabolic advantage vs a healthy omnivorous diet[2]
- short-term vegan diet is associated with epigenetic age benefits & reduced calorie intake[4]
- an anti-inflammatory diet[5]
- dietary advanced glycation end-products are unchanged on a Mediterranean diet but decrease on a low-fat vegan diet[5]
- weight reduction[5]
