Introduction
a person's risk or actual loss of social resources, behaviors, activities, & self-management abilities to fulfill basic social needs[1][4]
first proposed by Gobbens & others in 2010[4]
Etiology
- association between loneliness & social frailty among elderly
- hearing loss may contribute to social isolation
- negative emotions may contribute to social isolation
- adverse effects of medications may have a negative impact on social frailty[1]
- depression, physical inactivity, & weakness may affect social frailty[1]
