Introduction
RTK, IRS, PI-3 kinase, PI, PIP3, PTEN, PDK1, ATK, PDK2 BAD, caspase 9, FKHRL1, IKK, TSC2 NFkB, mTOR
Receptor tyrosine kinase (RTK) activation leads to activation of phosphoinositide-3-kinase (PI-3 kinase), converting phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate (IP3) to phosphatidylinositol-3,4,5-phosphate (PIP3), which helps to activate Akt.
PTEN blocks Akt by dephosphorylating PIP3.
Various substrates & downstream reactions are noted.
