Introduction
High WBC counts of > 50,000-100,000/uL cause hyperviscosity syndrome resulting in resistance to blood flow in capillary beds & smaller vessels.
Etiology
Management
- leukopheresis & induction chemotherapy for acute myeloid leukemia with WBC > 50,000/uL
