Introduction
Tradenames: Cardec-DM, Rondec-DM.
Indications
- relief of cough & symptoms of upper respiratory tract infection
- nasal congestion & rhinorrhea associated with allergies or the common cold
Contraindications
- narrow-angle glaucoma
- bladder neck obstruction
- symptomatic prostatic hypertrophy
- stenosing peptic ulcer
- concurrent MAO inhibitor therapy
- coronary artery disease
- pregnancy, lactation
Caution: patients with hypertension
Dosage
- adults: 5 mL syrup every 4-6 hours
- children:
- maximum: 4 doses/day
Syrup: carbinoxamine maleate 2 mg/mL + pseudoephedrine HCl 25 mg/mL + dextromethorphan HBr 4 mg/mL (240 mL)
