Indications
Contraindications
- breast cancer
- known or suspected prostate cancer
* caution use in the elderly (insufficient safety data)
Dosage
* based on serum testosterone drawn 6 hours after the morning dose at least 7 days after starting treatment
Capsules: 158,, 198, & 237 mg
Adverse effects
- hypertension
- increased risk of cardiovascular disease
- polycythemia
- diarrhea
- dyspepsia
- eructation
- peripheral edema
- nausea
- headache
- prostatic hypetrophy

Drug interactions
- insulin: may reduce insulin requirements; monitor for hypoglycemia
- anticoagulants: may affect INR
- glococorticoids in combination may increase risk of edema
- drugs known to increase blood pressure
