Biochemistry
volumetric analysis by means of addition of measured amounts of standardized solution to a solution of the substance being assayed. In general incremental amounts of the standardized substance is added in decreasing amounts until an end-point is reached, often indicated by a color change.
Pharmacology
analogous to usage in biochemistry, except that a drug is given in a measured amount to achieve a clinical effect.
