Nursing homes that provide Medicare or Medicaid services are required to make results of its last full inspection available for public view.

Site contains quality of care & staffing information for all 15,000 plus Medicare- & Medicaid-participating nursing homes; it does not provide information on any facility licensed by the state[1]

Site gives information about quality measures, staffing patterns, & inspection results

Site compares nursing home's performance with National & regional average performances.

Site contains information about nursing facilities only

Most of the quality measures reflect a sample of residents' conditions in the 7 days prior to inspection, thus providing a snapshot of quality of care at the time of the survey[1]

Site includes information about abuse or neglect in a nursing home[1]

Quality measures are generated from the Minimum Data Set

Inspections are mandated at least every 15 months
